The Name is Abdullah Chowdhury (Rana)

Yeapp! in our country most of us are given a nickname by family which most of the time excluded in any passport or national ID. My family and friends calls me Rana. I was born in Chittagong, one of the most beautiful cities in Bangladesh. When I was young my Dad wanted me to get my hands on computer, so he took me to a local computer learners centre and enrolled me to a short 6 months course which includes MS Word, MS Excel, Adobe photoshop and Adobe Illustrator. Back then I had no idea what photoshop or illustrators are. As it says 'Photo' in the name I was hopeful it definitely would be something to do with photo.. Thats when I started my journey in photography and graphics design world. I had keen interests in those old Yashica film cameras as my parents had one and I always wanted to know how it works. I had interests in photography since then and until now the love for it just went deep and deeper.

I came in London, UK in 2007, I started my study in Anglia Ruskin University in BA (Hons) in Applied accounting. Also Started working in McDonald's. The first thing I wanted to get after I came in London was a Digital camera, even though it took me 2 years to get my first Camera, Sony W310 Compact Camera which stayed in my bag most of the time to capture any good moments. Also in the mean time I was learning about photography, new cameras, visiting dpreviews.com on a regular basis to know about new techs, lenses etc. Searching in youtube and other sites trying to learn more and more.

My First Camera was Sony W320. Then I moved to mighty 30x zoom camera Sony HX100V. Then switched to next camera Nikon D3200 and currently using D610. I added few lenses and flashes and other gadgets to my collection. I also have a Gopro that stays in my pocket all the time just in case some actions pops up for the opportunity to be recorded.

I have friends that was interested in photography, when they found out I am a photo geek as well they started learning from me, they would ask me which cameras to buy, how to use them, how to take photos. Then we would go out walk around the londno city day or night and take photos and compare with each others photos. I even had an ex colleague at work, we both left work about 3 years ago only connected in Facebook, saw my photoworks and all of a sudden messaged me inviting me to go for an outside London tour with her just to show her how to use her new camera. One of my friends also currently working in a Fashion Studio in Spain who learned photography from me.

For me its fun creating new art with the cameras, playing with colors and lights, creating images and making videos, action moves, slow motion, timelapses. And the fun never gets old. Its a hunger of creating new art. My heart yearns for adventure, travel and music. And photography is my passion. I love taking photos of anything, anything that can be stunning when photographed nicely.
